5 Tips for Holiday Decorating

Can you believe the holidays are right around the corner?! It blows my mind that Thanksgiving is already next week. While it’s true that I absolutely love fall, and have been taking in every ounce of autumn I can, I must admit, I think I’m ready to jump into the holiday season now. To kick things off, I wanted to share with you a few tips I use when it comes to holiday decorating.

Tip 1 – Small Changes with Big Impact

Again, if you’re like me, and haven’t quite dove head first into the holidays yet, start small and add a few fun touches around your home. One easy way to transition your space is with decorative pillows. I have a bunch of different throws and pillows that I keep tucked away for each season. It’s not a huge investment, and a few simple pieces really help change up a room.

Tip 2 – Add Holiday Touches in Bedrooms

For the longest time, I only focused on decorating my main floor and living space. I started adding some fun holiday touches around my office, and to the upstairs bedrooms, to help the whole home have that fun holiday spirit! Simple wreathes, garland, and whimsical tree accents can add such a festive vibe to your bedroom.

Tip 3 – Dress Up Your Dining Table

Tablescapes are so fun! I love that you can truly amp up the holiday vibe with a beautifully decorated table setting. From colorful themed creations, to just a few classic and chic accents, adding some festive touches to your table will certainly delight your dinner guests. You don’t have to go to spend too much either, a few candles and garland, are a simple and easy way to spruce up your table!

Tip 4 – Take it Outside

I love the annual tradition of decorating my front door and porch for Christmas! It always puts a smile on my face seeing everyone else’s holiday decor up too. I love how peaceful and bright the streets look all lit up at night; it really makes my neighborhood feel so festive and cheery. I adore seeing other homes decked out in color, but my own personal holiday style is more classic, so I always go for white lights – and berry wreaths are my absolute favorite!

Tip 5 – Stick With Your Style

My final tip, is to just celebrate the holidays your way! Whether you love to go all out and transform your home into a sparkling winter wonderland, or you prefer a minimalist holiday vibe, just do you! There are so many options when it comes to holiday decor that it can almost get overwhelming. I’m inspired by a lot of different aesthetics, and sometimes I have the urge to overdecorate lol. When it comes down to it though, I’m a classic girl at heart, and I tend to always go for a clean and simple look. Stick to what you love, and you can’t go wrong.   9. These are great tips for holiday decorating! I ESPECIALLY LOVE THE DECORATING OUTDOORS IDEA! I USUALLY DECORATE MAINLY INDOORS AND USUALLY GO LIGHT ON THE OUTSIDE, BUT THIS YEAR MAYBE I WILL GO ALL OUT WITH DECORATING HEAVY OUTSIDE TO BRIGHTEN THE MOOD AND SPIRITS.
