Throwing it back this Thursday to one of the best vacations ever at the Four Seasons Bora Bora. My husband and I were fortunate enough to travel to this dream destination for one week back in October 2014. It was our first time staying in an overwater bungalow, and it was amazing! The water was so blue and crystal clear, every photo I took literally could have been a postcard (well…maybe if I was a better photographer lol). It was definitely a trek to get there, as it is a verrrrry long way from DC. We had to fly cross county to LA first, then take an overnight flight to Tahiti, followed by another smaller plane to Bora Bora, and then finally a short boat ride to get to the Four Seasons. The travel however, was certainly well worth it.
There’s not many places that do it better than the Four Seasons, from food to service and everything in between, our trip was beyond top notch. The staff at the Four Seasons are committed to knowing every guests name and addressing you properly, and also knowing what bungalow you are in without you ever having to tell them. This was key because the resort provides golf cart service around the property as it is pretty expansive, and magically they always knew exactly which bungalow to drop us off at. A friend of mine asked me if there was a lot to do there; I’m sure you could certainly find stuff to do, but I wouldn’t say it was an overly active destination. In my opinion, I think it’s more suited for a low key, slow down and relax kind of holiday.
The resort does have a lot of water sports available, a tennis court, pools, and beach areas. I’m normally a beach girl, but I could not pull myself away from the private deck of our bungalow (see photos below); this is where we spent most of our time. I loved the privacy and peace we had out there. As with every vacation getaway, we also made time to enjoy the spa. It was tranquil and relaxing, nestled deep in the property’s lush foliage; it was everything it should be, with of course impeccable service to boot. The food was also amazing, fresh sushi and expertly prepared dishes and snacks were provided daily. Oh, and on our last day there we had to check out of our bungalow, but weren’t leaving until later. They set us up in one of their private villas for the afternoon. The villa was STUNNING. I thought the bungalow was amazing (and it really is!), but the villa was insane. Beautiful home with private pool leading out to a private beach…literally to die for (photo from above is on the villa’s grounds).
Seriously though, I can’t rave about this place enough; I would love to go back one day, I know it will be just as amazing if not better!
Here are some photos from our visit, and specifically our overwater bungalow!
